Orange County is one of the most prosperous places in the world and one of the addresses found in Orange County is Garden Grove, Anaheim California. It is located in northern Orange County. Garden Grove has many attractions near-by, including Disney World, Anaheim Stadium, and Los Angeles is just a short drive away. Garden Grove was settled in 1874, by Alonzo Cook and incorporated in 1956. At that time there was a population of 45, 000. Today the population is about 175,000. The weather is pleasant all year and receives about 14 inches of rain each year. Garden Grove believes in arts and culture and is the home to three Stage Theatres, one being the Festival Amphitheater, which hosts the annual Shakespeare Festival each summer. Some well known personalities have resided in Garden Grove. Among some of the notables are Steve Martin, comedian, Wally George, talk-show host and of course, Bert Blyleven, former major league baseball pitcher. One of the most famous tourist attractions in Garden Grove is the Crystal Cathedral, the home of the religious telecasts of Robert H. Schuller. This is a beautiful church, constructed of 10,000 rectangular panels of glass. It has the capacity to seat 2900. The Crystal Cathedral also is one of the biggest employers in Garden Grove. It employs around 600. It is also one of the most inspiring places and definitely worth a visit when you are near Garden Grove.
