It is the most important retail center in town. However, there is a 50 mile area that the city has recently redeveloped. It is centered on Brea Boulevard and Birch Street and offers many opportunities for shopping and entertainment. It houses movie theaters, a live comedy club, sidewalk cafe's and a weekly farmer's market. Another thing that sets Brea apart from the other city's in Orange County is its extensive public art program. There are over 140 works of art located throughout the city. Nationwide, the program has been used as a model and inspiration.
