Description

After spending much of 2017 zig-zagging across the U.S., Alice Wallace and her band return home to Southern California to share the holidays with their hometown crowd.

Event Details

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, and Alice and the band plan to sprinkle in lots of their favorite holiday tunes for the concert, which will also feature the fantastic Long Beach duo Bearcoon opening the show.

Alice will be joined on stage by her top-notch band of musicians: Tom Bremer on guitar, Austin Callender on bass, Josh Huppert on drums, as well as the always spectacular Jeremy Long on pedal steel and keys, and Robbie Covacevich on sax and clarinet.

This show will cap off a year in which Alice was named “Best Country Artist” by the LA Music Critic Awards, and her latest album on California Country Records, “Memories, Music & Pride,” was named in 7 categories on the first round Grammy ballot. Alice and the band also made their Nashville debut in September as an official showcase artist at the Americana Music Festival, alongside artists like Rodney Crowell, Aaron Lee Tasjan, Brandy Clark and many more.

In August, they opened for The Band Perry at the Pacific Amphitheater to a crowd of 5,500, and have also had the opportunity to open for artists such as Lee Ann Womack, Wynonna Judd, Suzy Bogguss, JD Souther, Billy Joe Shaver and Ray Wylie Hubbard.

BEARCOON

After taking home the grand prize win at Buskerfest (Long Beach’s largest and longest-running battle-of-the-bands competition) and being named “Best Folk Act” by the OC Weekly, the on-stage bandmates and off-stage girlfriends of Bearcoon made a bold decision: to sell 95% of their possessions, quit their jobs, give up their apartment, and begin touring the country full-time.

Following their sold-out album release show at Fingerprints Music in June 2015, the pair left town in a 1992 Chevy G20 conversion van they’d purchased off of Craigslist a few weeks earlier. Following its release their album, El Guapo, quickly reached the #1 spot on amazon.com’s “Hot New Releases” list and would go on to be voted “Long Beach Album of the Year” on the Long Beach Post’s public opinion poll.

The duo spent 2016 touring the west coast and making appearances at several noteworthy festivals, i
